Privacy Policy

Kingbear LLC (“CastDeck,” “we,” “us”) built CastDeck to get you into your meetings, not to collect your data. This policy explains what we handle, why, and what we deliberately don’t.

The short version

• We read your calendar only to show your meetings and launch them.
• Your meeting details (titles, attendees, times) stay on your devices — they travel only as far as your own Mac, to open the call.
• We don’t sell your data and we don’t use it for advertising.
• If we measure usage at all, it’s anonymous counts, never the contents of your calendar.

Information we handle

Account information. When you create a CastDeck account, we collect your email address to operate your account and pair your devices. If you opt in, we may also use it to send product updates — and you can opt out anytime. Providing your email for marketing is always optional and never required to use CastDeck.

Calendar data (Google). With your permission, CastDeck accesses your Google Calendar on a read-only basis to display your agenda and launch your meetings, and uses it solely to provide those features. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties for their own purposes. Meeting content is processed to show your agenda and is transmitted only to your own paired Mac to open a meeting; it is not retained on our servers beyond what is necessary to operate the relay, and it never enters any analytics.

Launch relay. To open a meeting on your Mac, CastDeck sends a short launch instruction (which can include the meeting link) through our relay to your own paired Mac. This transmission is ephemeral and is not stored for analytics.

Usage information. CastDeck collects limited, pseudonymous usage information — for example, that a launch occurred or a focus session started — to understand how the product is used and improve it. It consists of actions and counts only, tied to a pseudonymous identifier that is not your name or email. It never includes the contents of your calendar (no titles, attendees, or who you meet). It is on by default and you can opt out anytime in Settings; for users in the EU/EEA, it is off until you opt in. We store this information in our own backend and do not share it with a third-party analytics company.

Aggregate, anonymized insights. We may publish fully aggregated, anonymized insights about how people use meeting tools — for example, which providers are most common, or what share of meetings end on time. These are never identifying and never include the contents of any calendar.

How we use information

To operate CastDeck, launch your meetings, maintain and secure your account, communicate with you about the service, and (where you’ve allowed it) understand usage and send product updates.

Google API Services — Limited Use

CastDeck’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of providers, including Apple (App Store billing and subscriptions), Google (Calendar API), and [Supabase / hosting & backend provider]. Usage information is stored in our own backend; we do not use a third-party analytics provider. Each provider handles data only as needed to provide their service to us.

A note on Apple subscriptions

Your subscription is purchased and managed through Apple. Apple does not share your name or email with us; we receive only anonymized subscription information. Any email we hold comes from the account you created with us, not from Apple.

Data retention

We keep account information for as long as your account is active, and only as long as needed afterward to meet legal and operational obligations. Calendar content is not warehoused; it’s used in the moment to show and launch your meetings.

Your choices and rights

You can access or delete your account information, opt out of marketing emails, opt out of usage collection, and disconnect your Google calendars anytime. To make a request, contact privacy@getcastdeck.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable law.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we minimize what we hold precisely so there’s less to protect.

Children

CastDeck is not directed to children under [13/16], and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

We’ll update this policy as CastDeck evolves and post the new effective date here. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email.
